Over the past week I’ve learned more about the real estate process than I thought I would. A week ago this whole process was voo-doo to me and I was not looking forward to negotiating the perils. Now I’m to a point where I have found a house, a lender, drafted a contract with the Realtor, and had a lawyer look it over. There is a consencus that the lender is a bit high with their fees (which sucks because it’s my friend’s mom’s company) so I will shop around for other lenders today.
And that’s pretty much where I stand. As soon as the attorney gets back to me about revising the contract, I will be ready to make my first offer. Now I have to decide how much I want to offer – hopefully all the negotiating classes I took will pay off.
